SHROPSHIRE ARCHERY SOCIETY

 

 

 INDOOR LEAGUE – RULES.

 

 

1. ROUND

Indoor 20yd or 18m rounds that are recognised by Archery GB.

Compound archers can shoot on triple faces if preferred.

 

2. SCORING

As laid out in the Archery GB Rules of Shooting for Indoor Target Archery.

For all bow types, scores to be as shot.

One score to be submitted per discipline for both individual and team events each month.

 

3. DIVISIONS

Divisions will be by Bow Type, Archer Gender and Age.

 

INDIVIDUAL.

Senior, Junior, Veteran.

A junior must be under 18 years of age on the first day of the competition and can continue to shoot as a junior until the end of the competition.

A Veteran must be over 65 years of age on the first day of the competition,

 

TEAMS

Senior League, Recurve Division(s), Teams to consist of four archers male or female.

Senior League, Compound Division(s), Teams to consist of two archers male or female.

Senior League, Barebow Division(s), Teams to consist of three archers male or female shooting bows complying with Archery GB rules 204, 205 or 206a

Senior League Longbow Division(s), Teams to consist of three archers male or female shooting bows complying with Archery GB rule 206.

Junior League - Teams to consist of three archers male or female shooting any type of bow. A junior team need not shoot at the same time as the senior team.

 

Each division will have up to six teams. The selection of the teams in each division is done on the basis of the previous year’s average scores. Each team shoots one match per month between November and March thereby shooting against each team in turn in the division, If insufficient teams are entered Bye’s will be awarded.

 

Any number of archers may shoot with the first two, three or four highest scores forming the A team and the next two, three or four scores forming the B team etc.

 

If a club offers more than one shooting day per week archers Must declare the day they intend to shoot the round prior to the round being shot, Not enter the best score of the week.

 

4. DISCIPLINES

Archers may shoot more then one discipline and enter scores for each.

 

A Junior shooting two discipline can enter scores for a Junior and Senior team but for the Senior team must stay with that discipline all the way through the competition.

 

5. RETURN of SCORES

Scores are to be returned each month by your club rep. to the organiser and also to your opposing team. These scores should reach the organiser as soon as possible in the month they are shot but will not be accepted if received after the Tenth (10) day of the next month. If scores are posted the date stamp will be accepted as proof of posting.

6. POINTS

Teams

3 points are awarded for a win; 3 points are awarded for a Bye or a match where an opponent team fails to return a score, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a loosing team.

 

7. VENUE

Matches may take place at any venue or be shot as a postal shoot.      

 

8. TIME LIMIT

All rounds to be shot within the dates/month given on the fixture list.

 

9. AWARDS

Individual

Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for highest aggregated scores for the season, Dependant on entries.

Archers must enter scores for a minimum of 3 rounds for each discipline they shoot to qualify for an award.

 

Team

Recurve Division 1 - The winner of this division will receive the SHROPSHIRE STAR CUP.

Compound Division 1 - The winner of this division will receive the SUPERFREIGHT SHIELD.

Barebow Division 1 - The winner of this division will receive the SHROPSHIRE ARCHERY SOCIETY SHIELD.

Longbow Division 1 – The winner of this division will receive  the CARADOC trophy.

Junior Division 1 - The winner of this division will receive the PENTEL STATIONERY SHIELD.

 

10. PARTICIPATION

All archers shooting must be affiliated to Shropshire Archery Society and Archery GB.

 

11. SHOOTING

All shooting to comply with Archery GB rules of shooting.

 

If a club wants, because of time or space restrictions, archers may shoot 6 arrows per end but scores would not be eligible for handicap or County records, archers are encouraged to shoot 3 arrow ends whenever possible.
